it is not a big hoetl, yet they try to provide facilities to room guest. Staff is very helpful and attentive.
I stay there for 5 days, breadfast is the same for 5 days.
A quiet hotel that is centrally located, a good continental breakfast, nice renovated bathroom. We did get upgraded to a queen deluxe room.
The room itself needed a paint job badly, we requested a wakeup call that never came, there was an odd smell in lobby. I would look elsewhere in the future.
the fact that was close to the shopping centre and there was an atm inside the hotel
no room service apart from cleaning
Free wifi. Good value for money. Nice location. Room was clean and not too small.
Rooms need to be updated. There was about a centimeter of free space (a gap) beneath the door, allowing too much sound and a bit of light in from the hall: sometimes it felt a bit like sleeping in the corridor. I used a rolled up towel to close the "defect" when I went to bed. Luckily the other guests down the hall weren't too noisy.
The hotel is in a good location, it is located near the Back bay subway, so it is quite handy to go anywhere. Breakfast is OK and more than enough. Other facilities are quite good.
Some staff at the front desk are excellent and helpful, but only a few are not. Some maids had done a good work, but some had not done well. We should have some hot food for breakfast.
The welcome was warm and friendly. The room was a reasonablr size.
The room decor was verging on the "genteel shabby". Too many chipped paint marks.
The location is definitely a plus. Conveniently close to the Copley Sqaure Station which makes it easy to hop on the T and visit the city. Several restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk.
I like the fact that the breakfast was included in the rate. Employees were very friendly.
I didn't like that the Windows wouldn't open as well as the poor condition of the bathroom. Shower curtain broken and water in bathtub not going down the drain. All walls need some serious painting.
The location and rate compared to surrounding hotels.
How small the rooms were. The lack of upkeep on the old, but beautiful building...needed painting and deep cleaning. The airconditoning was almost non-existant.
Location. I was only there a few hours
Slightly musty smell in rooms although the hotel seemed very clean.
Handy Location. One block from both orange or green line subway stations and walkable distance to downtown. Quite a few restaurants and shops available nearby. Laundromat was a four-block walk to Appleton St. Complimentary breakfast was simple but very good, with ample supply and plenty of space/seating with no sense of rush at all. Quite a magnificent building inside though you wouldn't know it existed from the outside! Complimentary business center had printers available. Wifi in the rooms was patchy but Ok
Room was a bit cramped with minimal furnishing. A refrigerator in the room would be helpful.
Dirty walls in room that have have not been painted in years. would not stay there again.
Location is a major attribute, with the cost approximately half that of the other hotels in that area of Boston. Parking is handy, also at a cost less than at surrounding hotels. Access to both the Yellow and Green lines of the mbta (the "t") is excellent, with stations to either line within a couple of blocks. General cleanliness ok, but see comment below. Staff very helpful. Complementary continental breakfast is a great convenience.
While the jhhcc has generally spruced up its facility, there is a need, at least on the floor we were on, to do some "deep cleaning" of the rugs beyond the usual vacuuming. Dust collection in corners of bathroom floor could use some steam "blowout". Overall the hotel is very pleasant, but floors give it a bit of a "dowdy" look.
Staff was helpful and the room was comfortable and quiet.
I would have preferred Wi-fi in the room. it wasy pretty busy to do th computer contacts in the lobby.
The location is very good. The staff was helpful and i like very much to have the breakfast ready at the 5 th floor !!.
